Water Damage can be one of the biggest disasters a home can experience. Of course, water in itself is not a danger, but the longer the water sits, the more damage it causes. One of the keys to minimizing water damage is knowing the signs that it might be happening. Here are some signs to look for that may be telling of water damage.
Water Damage | Signs To Look For
A Bulge In Your Ceiling
As homes age, minor inconsistencies can happen, but a telling sign of water damage is a bulge in your ceiling. This happens when water soaks into your ceiling, which causes the materials to expand leaving a bulge. Also, water increases the weight of the ceiling causing it to sag in areas.
Baseboards Bulging
One of the most common, and easiest to notice signs of water damage is a bulge in your baseboards. Be sure to regularly look through your home at your baseboards to ensure your home doesn't need water damage restoration.
Humidity Change In A Room
Many times you can feel the humidity in a room change when enough water has been leaking. If you notice the air carrying more moisture, don't look past that sign as a coincidence. Be sure to check your home for possible water leaks.
Actual Water Pouring Out
This one goes without saying. If water is pouring out from a place it shouldn't, there is definitely a problem! Immediately shut off your water to prevent any further damage.
