1.     Respirators and goggles in post-flood conditions are especially critical. Walking into a flood damaged home unprepared could be catastrophic.  Household detergents and industrial chemicals, oil, gasoline and sewage swelling up from the earth by the rising flood water create a hazardous mix of pathogens and fumes.  >>> Natural Disaster Flooding

3.     Storms produce debris. Downed trees, live electric transformers sparking and flashing in the rain-soaked pools, branches, displaced vehicles, roof asphalt and shingles and any number of structural material from residences. 4.     A word about insurance claims. Flood water silt and mud bury and remove property.  Homeowners must prepare by taking pre-storm photos and videos of inside and outside spaces and a full inventory of personal belongings. Photos with a date and time provide proof to an insurer and expedite a successful claim.
