1970's Flooring Strip and Seal
This is a local pizza factory, They haven't had their floors professionally cleaned before. There is always a lot of traffic in the building so the floors were showing signs of wear and tear and some coating breakdown. The owner was having the employees use heavy duty bleach on the floors causing more damage then it was good. Long term use of bleach on any surface starts break down of any seals or coatings. General use ofcleaning products, ammonia, bleach, or acidic cleaners can damage stone and prematurely degrade your sealer. Always use a neutral pH tile or stone cleaning product. “Neutral” means that the compound is a “7” on the pH scale. The pH scale runs from “1” to “14.” The lower numbers correspond to highly acidic compounds, while the higher numbers correspond to highly alkaline compounds like bleach.
